The fire (or Djarfogo means Island of fire) is one of the 10 islands that belong to the archipelago of Cape Verde, was one of the first islands to be populated. San Felipe is the third city in the archipelago. The island is volcanic and is the longest in the group, due to the altitude of the Pico del Fuego volcano. The volcano has been historically active and its last eruption began on November 23, 2014. Its most characteristic feature is a crater 9 km wide with 1 km edge. The crater has a crack in its eastern wall, already large rich in its center. The Pico contact center is the highest point on the island (2829 m) and its summit is approximately 100 m higher than the crater’s corner than the envelopes. Lava of the volcano has reached the face of the coast of the island in historical times.
